A Slow Awakening

A Slow Awakening is a three-part durational movement research project raising ecological awareness in Hawaii and South Korea with The Spinning Goats Collective including dance and art makers Sami L.A. Akuna, Larry Asakawa, Sequoia Carr-Brown, Jhalak Kara Miller, Mareva Minerbi, Anne Selby, and SheenRu Yong.
The first two events were a beach cleanup held at Waimanalo Bay in Hawaii.
The third event is a performance installation in Seoul at the International Seoul Dance Improvisation Festival that includes the creation of a structured movement score interacting with video projection design and footage of the 2018-2019 A Slow Awakening year long movement research project.
